A body has been found in the search for a pensioner missing from his Lanarkshire home. Edward McDonald, 75, was reported missing after disappearing on Monday from his home in Bellshill.
He may have been seen on Tuesday and Wednesday after his disappearance, which his family described as "out of character". Tragically, officers from Police Scotland's Lanarkshire division have confirmed that a body has been discovered in the course of their search.
There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Edward, who had been wearing a black jacket, dark khaki fleece, dark trousers, dark shoes and a khaki cap at the time of his disappearance.
