Blue-eyed lurcher Gino is desperate for a family but has had barely any interest

A young and energetic lurcher is looking for a place to call home after he was given up to a rescue centre as a puppy. Gino arrived in the care of Manchester Dogs Home in May 2021, but has had barely any interest from adopters.

Volunteers at the kennels say he arrived ‘through no fault of his own’ and has bags of character - but just needs someone to share his fun-loving personality with.

The gorgeous dog’s most striking feature is his piercing blue eyes, as according to dog DNA testing site Wisdom Panel, only around five per cent of dogs have blue eyes. A spokesperson for Manchester Dogs Home said: “Gino has now been with us for a year, and we have yet to have any suitable applicants, though he hasn't had very many at all - you could probably count them on one hand. “He really is a good looking boy and we can't understand the reason as to why he hasn't found someone yet.” Gino is described as a typical lurcher youngster - ‘sprightly and bouncy’ and loves to jump up a lot.
