Earlier that morning, at around 1:30am on Monday February 8, an amber alert had been issued for missing girl, Jalisa Lasalle, who police suspected may have been kidnapped.
She had been gone missing from her home on Sunday between 1 and 2pm and was believed to be in "imminent danger". The quick-thinking pair then parked their rubbish truck to block the car from fleeing after suspecting it could be linked to the police alert and decided to inspect further.
