Mihaela Buzarnescu had to borrow a bra from her coach after falling foul of Wimbledon's strict dress-code. The Romanian ace found herself in hot water with the tournament's rule-makers before her first round match against Germany's Nastasja Mariana Schunk last week.
Buzarnescu, ranked 127th in the world, turned up to Court 2 wearing a black bra.In the 21st century, you might think that such attire would not cause a problem.
But SW19's archaic dress-code details that all competitors - male or female - "must be dressed in suitable tennis attire that is almost entirely white." But thankfully her coach came to the rescue. "My bustier was too black and could be seen up here (pointing to the bust area) and I had to change it," Buzarnescu explained afterwards. Do you think Wimbledon's dress-code is too old-fashioned?
