'Big cat' panther hunt called off by police after drone unit discover domestic pet

A drone unit dispatched following an alleged sighting of the big cat near Swindon has been called off after police discovered the culprit was a regular black house cat.Gloucestershire Police had been called out on the search on Saturday evening after reports of the deadly predator running loose in the British countryside.Drone pilot Special Inspector Guy Sanders raced to the scene in Chiseldon, Wiltshire, to support other officers as they hunted for the animal following a report from a member of the public.The call-out followed a 27-year-old dog walker who also reported similar prowling cat roaming around Wildmoorway Lane, in the Cotswolds, earlier in the week.Despite the vast search, the panther could not be located, but officers did find.
