Ben Cohen injury rules him out of The Lir Jet Curragh ride as Oisin Orr is called up

Oisin Orr has been called up at the last minute to ride The Lir Jet in the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes. Ben Cohen had been booked to ride the Michael Bell-trained juvenile in the Group One contest, but he was injured in a fall at Sligo on Friday.

His mount Multamis and two other horses slipped up after the line in the Kevin Egan Cars Handicap, while Ideal Pal unseated his jockey on the bend.

Cohen suffered a broken collarbone and the card was abandoned due to safety concerns. “Ben Coen sustained a fracture of his clavicle in the fourth race at Sligo today,” said Dr Jennifer Pugh, senior medical officer for the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board. “He will be sidelined for a short period of time.
