Amanda Abbington has confirmed that she won't be returning for the Strictly Come Dancing final after leaving the competition early.
The news will be disappointing for Strictly star Giovanni Pernice, who will now be left without a dance partner as the rest of the contestants return to the stage.
It comes after reports that Giovanni was reportedly "fuming" after the actress suddenly decided to quit the dance competition in October after "giving no warning." Releasing a statement on why she chose to step away, Amanda said she was forced to withdraw due to "personal reasons" and thanked the production team and "everyone on Strictly." But many were shocked to see Amanda fail to give an individual mention to professional dance partner Giovanni in the statement, leading to rumours of a feud between them.
Giovanni also took to Instagram to express his sadness over having to step down from the competition.Taking to his Instagram at the time, Giovanni had shared a photo of the pair embracing while dressed in festive outfits and wrote: "I am so sad we can't continue, but I am proud of what we achieved, and I am sending you so much love." Now, a statement given to the Mirror from the BBC has confirmed that Amanda has decided to snub the final.
