BBC Breakfast hosts Sally Nugent and Jon Kay had to terminate an interview early following some technical difficulties. On Monday's show (August 29), the presenters spoke to a guest about adding more Bank Holidays to the calendar.Kate Bell, head of economics at Trade Union Congress, spoke to the BBC hosts about her stance on the matter. READ MORE: BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty ‘enjoys’ Bradley Walsh ‘waking up to her’ in cheeky quip She believes the UK should be able to have another four days to its roster.However, during their debate, the BBC presenters had to cut the interview short.The technical blunder to blame appeared to be Kate's Wifi, as the chat got interrupted with jumping audio and video footage due to her poor connection.When the pair were unable to hear Kate, they stepped in to refrain from showing viewers any more jumpy footageRight before it happened, Sally said: "Don't you think that actually just talking about this at the moment when we're concentrating on things like the cost of living crisis, businesses, domestic fuel users are having their bills going through the roof?
It just feels like it's the wrong time to talk about it."Kate then replied: "Unions are absolutely campaigning for better pay."We've been calling for a freeze on energy bills and for increases in benefits immediately."But right as Kate tried to explain further, she froze and her speech became unclear to understand.So, Sally interjected: "Kate Bell from the Trade Union Congress."I'm afraid we will have to leave it there as there seems to be a problem with the Wifi."Maybe the Wifi's on Bank Holiday," she quipped.This comes after Jon Kay's University Challenge stint came up in conversation, as the show is celebrating it's 60th year on.
