BBC Breakfast host Jayne McCubbin had viewers cringing over an awkward mishap between herself and a guest. As she went live from Skegness, which she pitched as SkegVegas, she discussed the joy many families feel about heading to the UK holiday destination - and showed some fan-favourite wins.
One of which, was Jolly, a mascot who walks across the pier dressed as a fishermen in a huge costume with a blue t-shirt on which reads: "The Jolly Fisherman Skegness".
As Jayne wanted to bring him onto the screen to introduce him to viewers, she said: "If you think Skegness, you'll think beautiful beach, you'll think exciting theme park over there. "You'll think (whispering) Andrew!, you'll think fish and chips, oldest chip shop in town ladies and gentlemen, and you'll think..." Jayne started waving towards the mascot as she said: "Jolly, Jolly, Jolly, Jolly to me!
Jolly Fisherman, kind of scary."Jolly took a few seconds extra to walk over to Jayne as he completely blanked her and didn't realise he was calling her over.
