direct to your inboxA gang of attempted carjackers led police on an early hours chase through a south Manchester suburb.The thieves tried to steal a Seat Ibiza - which was occupied - directly in front of officers from the serious collision investigation unit, according to police.The balaclava-clad men struck on Barlow Moor Road, in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, at around 12.45am this morning (February 19).Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say an officer was alerted to “an ongoing robbery attempt of a Seat Ibiza”.Four men in a black Volkswagen Tiguan and white BMW 330E attempted to steal the Seat before abandoning the Volkswagen and fleeing.They left the scene in a high-powered white BMW 330E.Police gave chase and all four suspects abandoned the BMW on.
