tortured his son until his legs were amputated has been attacked with tuna tins in prison.Anthony Smith is serving a decade in jail for his and Jody Simpson's horrendous abuse of little six-week-old Tony Hudgell.Once thrown behind bars at Swaleside Prison on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, Smith found himself on the receiving end of bullying, KentLive reports.Maidstone Crown Court has heard how the baby-beater needed 12 teeth replaced after lags Michael Stewart and Nathan Odgers took him hostage and repeatedly hit him with tuna tin-filled socks in a two-hour ordeal.The two men pushed Smith, then aged 47, into his single cell on August 7 2018 and tied him to his bed and threatened to 'chop off his legs' when fellow inmates shouted out who he was and why he was in jail.Stewart and Odgers, themselves victims of physical child abuse and neglect, then launched their brutal assault which left the tins 'heavily dented' and Smith needing hospital treatment for multiple teeth fractures and bruising.

Six months earlier, Smith had been jailed for 10 years alongside girlfriend Jody Simpson after they were convicted at the same court of inflicting numerous limb fractures to their young son Tony, resulting in multi-organ failure and sepsis.

His injuries were so horrific, including a hip dislocation and head trauma, the youngster had to have surgery to amputate both legs at the knee.Tony became a pandemic lockdown hero when he raised more than £1.6million for the hospital which saved his life and provides ongoing treatment.The court heard Smith did not know his attackers or have any issues with them.
