Atletico Madrid could axe seven first team stars this summer as Diego Simeone looks to revamp his squad. The Spanish club underwent something of a reshuffle last summer as big names like Antoine Griezmann and Rodri left the Wanda Metropolitano.
But following another season behind Real Madrid and Barcelona more changes are being planned. They will have to sell before they can begin adding new faces again given the financial situation at the club.
Simeone has huge amounts of control at Atletico and is known for being ruthless when it comes recruitment and moving players on.
However Atletico CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin claims only 25 percent of player sales will be pumped back into the transfer budget.
