Arsene Wenger was pushed out of the door at Arsenal in the summer of 2018, but unlike Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United he didn’t get a say in who would replace him.
The legendary French boss led the Gunners to four league titles in his first eight seasons at the club and three FA Cups in his final four years to go down as one of the greatest managers in English football history.
However, towards the end of his time at the club fans were left split over whether he should continue in the role, which could have ended his chances of naming a successor.
Former Sevilla and PSG boss Unai Emery was handed the honour but lost his job during his second season as boss, and Wenger might have made a different call.
