Arsenal scout Johnathan Vidalle, who discovered Gabriel Martinelli, has issued his surprise over the Brazilian in his first year at the club.
Martinelli was brought in from Ituano as an unknown prospect for around £9m. The 18-year-old signed a long-term contract in July with the club casting their eye on the future.
But no-one suspected that the teenager would have such a huge impact in his debut campaign. After initially impressed Unai Emery on the training pitch, Martinelli has not looked back.
