The 28-year-old, who earns £180,000-a-week could now be offloaded by club chiefs in a swap deal with Atletico Madrid. Spanish outlet AS say the Gunners will revive their interest in long-term transfer target Thomas Lemar, who has fallen out of favour under manager Diego Simeone.
Arsenal missed out on the French flyer in 2018 after he snubbed a move to England in favour of a La Liga switch. Lemar has only started 11 games this season and has failed to live up to expectations at Los Colchoneros.
