Arsenal have opened talks with Hammarby over a move for 16-year old Emil Roback but will face stiff competition from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich for the striker.
The highly-rated Swedish youth international has already visited Arsenal for a training spell, as the club attempt to woo him into moving to the Premier League.
The Gunners are looking to repeat the success of 18-year-old Gabriel Martinelli, who arrived from Ituano last summer in a bargain £6m move.
Hammarby's director of football Jesper Jansson confirmed that Roback had travelled to England to visit Arsenal, adding that there was 'strong interest' from the Gunners in signing the Sweden under-17 international.
