Floyd, an unarmed and handcuffed black man, was this week killed by police after being arrested, with footage showing an officer, Derek Chauvin, kneeling on his neck as he cried out: ‘I can’t breathe!’ Four officers, who have not been identified, were fired and an investigation is underway by the FBI and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
Chauvin has also now been taken into custody. Many have been sharing a petition, titled ‘Justice for George Floyd’, with the description reading: ‘George was handcuffed and restrained and being completely cooperative when this all went down. ‘The officer put his knee on George’s neck
