Stretchers which specialist paramedics dumped beside Victoria railway station should have been used to carry casualties from the blast zone at the Manchester Arena bombing, the public inquiry into the atrocity was told.
Makeshift stretchers made up of metal crash barriers and signs were used to move casualties from the foyer of the venue where the blast occurred , known as the City Room, down the stairs to the concourse of Victoria railway station where a 'casualty clearing station' was set up.
But the continuing public inquiry into the bombing today (Monday) heard from ambulance service experts who criticised the lack of drugs to offer pain relief to casualties and also stretchers to remove patients.
