International TV veteran Avi Armoza has bought back his Tel Aviv formats company from ITV Studios. Following the deal, Armoza Formats will return to independent status, but retain the exclusive rights to produce ITV Studios formats in Israel.
ITV Studios, ITV’s production and distribution wing, will retain the rights to the Armoza Formats catalog it acquired in 2019.
Known as one of the more successful indies in the international formats space, Armoza launched 19 years ago and built a reputation on entertainment shows such as Still Standing Marry Me Now and The Four.
Those shows remain with ITV, but all future formats will be owned by Armoza. Ongoing productions aren’t affected. In Israel, Armoza has produced ITV Studios formats such as Keshet’s upcoming version of dating show Love Island, plus three seasons of Come Dine With Me and two of quiz The 1% Club.
