Angelina Jolie 'tipped off paparazzi' about former relationship with Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie reportedly tipped the press about her relationship with Brad Pitt while he was still with then-wife Jennifer Aniston.

According to a new memoir from the founder of Rolling Stone magazine Jann Wenner claims that Jolie was behind the famous 2005 pictures of herself and Pitt on a beach together.

Wenner was the owner of US Weekly at the time when rumours were swirling about a romance between Jolie and Pitt, and one of the magazine's photographers got a tip about the pair staying at a resort in Africa.READ MORE: The Queen's most iconic acting moments – James Bond skydive and Paddington cameoWenner claimed that "the tipster was Angelina," reports TMZ, with Jolie allegedly giving specific details about their daily walks and where exactly the paps could grab a picture of them together.Proof of the romance was obtained through the taking of those now infamous beach photos, Jann said, declaring that "we had the worldwide scoop, the debut of Brangelina".The pair are certainly not very friendly anymore, though - despite separating in 2016 and being declared single in 2019, their divorce is still yet to be finalised as they continue to divide finances and negotiate custody arrangements for their children.This week, Jolie filed a $250m (£217m) lawsuit against Pitt in relation to a French winery the former couple purchased together.According to court papers seen by Page Six, Jolie claims that Pitt is trying to "seize control" of the sprawling estate "in retaliation" for the "divorce and custody proceedings".The site was purchased by the actors in 2012 for approximately £20m, before the pair pumped millions into its improvement.
