An ambulance has been destroyed in a fire while paramedics were treating a patient. The cause of the blaze is being investigated after the ambulance was found ablaze outside a house in Trent Vale in Stoke-on-Trent.
At the time, the ambulance crew were inside the house treating a patient. Neighbours then came to warn the paramedics that the ambulance was on fire.
Firefighters arrived to extinguish the ambulance on Flash Lane at 12.37am, but the vehicle still suffered extensive damage. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed that no one had been injured in the incident.
