Police have slammed hundreds of revellers who attended a paid-for house party as "selfish and irresponsible". Roughly 300 turned up to the ticketed event in Midlothian, Scotland, on Saturday night.
Officers were called out to classy Mansion House of Kirkhill, which rents for around £1,600 a night on Airbnb. But fed-up neighbours alerted police to the party, and they swiftly put and end the gathering.
Scottish lockdown rules state that no more than eight people can meet up inside. Police Scotland are to undertake a further investigation despite a man, 28, already being issued with a fixed penalty notice.
The force attended over responded to 300 house parties north of the border last weekend alone. Deputy Chief Constable Malcolm Graham said:
