Scottish Government publication sparking concerns yesterday.The SPFL were forced to reiterate their statement last night that the Scottish Premiership fixture will go ahead go ahead after an update to the measures for the local lockdown in the city claimed the game was off.
The 'Sport' section claimed that the top flight fixture would not be played next Wednesday night.The government website stated: "The Scottish Premier League (SPL) home fixture on Wednesday 12 August will not go ahead."This match has been cancelled due to Aberdeen FC players contracting Covid-19 and the need to minimise the risk of transmissions to other regions." The post came after the SPFL confirmed in a brief statement that both the Hamilton and Celtic visit next.
