Arsenal are attempting to offload Matteo Guendouzi to Lyon in exchange for Houssem Aouar. Guendouzi looks to have no future at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta after the Gunners boss lost patience with the young midfielder's attitude.
And Arsenal transfer chief Edu wants to use the Frenchman as a makeweight in a deal for Aouar. According to French newspaper Arteta sees the 22-year-old as a key part of his rebuilding after he scored three goals and four assists from midfield last season.
Edu has reportedly phoned his counterpart at Lyon but his first offer has been rejected. The French side, who knocked Manchester City out of the Champions League on Saturday night, are not convinced they need Guendouzi.
