It’s been revealed that almost a quarter of Brits are breaking the law when driving in the winter without even knowing it. A warning has been issued to drivers by insurance company Admiral after it was found a huge number were actually breaking the law when driving in wintry conditions.

Admiral conducted a survey that found that over half of motorists ignore weather warnings, as well as a host of other rules.

The study found that 24% of people driving do so without fully de-icing their windscreen, something that is actually illegal.

This is because driving with any snow or ice on your windscreen that obstructs your view breaks rule 229 of the Highway Code.
