police officers have been ambushed and killed in two attacks in Mexico. It is understood that the two locations of the attacks were Zacualpan and Coatepec Harinas and were carried out by members of organised crime groups.Mexican news publication La Silla Rota said that one attack happened on the road to Zacualpan where there was a confrontation between security personnel and members of organised crime.
Both are part of the Tierra Caliente region in MexicoIn Coatepec the violence is believed to have broken out on Thursday (March 18) afternoon, it is unclear how many police died at each attack.
Earlier reports suggested there were 17 officers killed but a reporter in Mexico has now confirmed that the number killed is 13.
