Two young women have died in a car crash after the pair enjoyed a pizza and chat together following months in lockdown. Claudia Parioli, 20, and Giulia Vangelisti, 21, drove home when their car smashed into another vehicle, which was occupied by construction workers on a main road between Esine and Darfo in Brescia county.
The women were in an Opel car when the Audi A4 coming in the opposite direction smashed into their vehicle. It is believed the Audi was overtaking at the time although the cause of the accident is still under investigation, according to reports.
Local media also said that the road conditions were wet and both vehicles were travelling at speed at the time which may also have led to the accident.
