Dozens of residents drove up to the border of Wuhan as the Chinese authorities ended the city's 76-day coronavirus lockdown.
The lift came after China reported no deaths on Tuesday, the first time since it began publishing figures. People in Wuhan, where the pandemic started, are now allowed to leave the city as train, road and rail connections were re-established at the stroke of midnight on April 8.
Video posted by state media outlet CGTN captures a long queue of traffic lining up at the Gongjialing Toll Gate where motorists can travel to the neighbouring city of Ezhou within Hubei province.
A driver waiting second in the queue told CGTN that he cannot wait to go home after staying months in Wuhan. He said: "I'm from Hunan province
