A huge 10-foot-long sea creature has been accidentally captured by a fishing boat hunting for a shoal of smaller fish. Incredible footage shows how the gigantic fish dwarfs one of the anglers as it dangles from the ship’s hook.

Other smaller creatures can be seen stuck to its body. The ocean sunfish – also known as Mola mola – was caught in the East China Sea off the coast of Fenghua District in Nignbo, East China.

Believed among fishermen to bring bad luck because its common name in Chinese means to “overturn”, the sunfish was quickly released.

Ocean sunfish are one of the heaviest bony fish species in existence. They are also known to be just as tall as they are long when their dorsal and ventral fins are extended.
