Work on a restaurant extension was completed before planning bosses could rule on the proposals. The Long House in Kilmarnock wanted to make use of a small parcel of land next to the town centre eaterie. But before East Ayrshire Council planners could make a decision on the blueprints; the expansion was already completed. The Buzzworks venue on Titchfield Street lodged proposals for an outdoor seating area and the erection of a 1.8 metre fence.A total of seven tables will be used in the outdoor area with 20 seats for diners. An application form asks why work was started ahead of the application being submitted.Bosses said: "Had previous approval for an extension for the land, but simplified the work when started." The retrospective application was granted by East Ayrshire Council planners with two conditions attached. The first concerned road safety at the junction of the car park and the second condition stated that the white fence surrounding the site "hall at all times allow for the free movement of water."
