A woman was subjected to a 'serious' sexual assault whilst walking on a residential street in Bolton in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called at 12.50am on Sunday morning to reports of a woman being attacked on Almond Street in the Farnworth area.
The woman is thought to have left a premises on Market Street before walking along Market Street, King Street, Albert Road, Harrowby Street and onto Almond Street - where the assault occurred. GMP have not confirmed whether anyone has been arrested but are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. A cordon was in place on Almond Street at the junction of Ashworth Street for a number of hours on Sunday morning.
