R Kelly’s daughter Joanne will speak out about her disgraced father in a new documentary.The feature-length documentary features “raw and emotional” interviews with Joanne and her siblings Jaah Kelly and Robert Kelly Jr as well as their mother Drea Kelly, who was married to R Kelly from 1996 to 2009. Together, they speak about the “dark reality of living in the shadow of one of the most notorious figures in music.”“Nobody wants to be the child of the father that is out here hurting women and children,” Joanne says in the film’s trailer.“He knows exactly why we can’t have the relationship that we would have liked to have with him,” she says, tearfully adding: “He was my everything.”The film’s official logline says that in the film, Joanne will share “a heartbreaking secret that shattered her childhood and changed her forever.”“For a long time, I didn’t even want to believe that it happened,” she continues in the trailer.

The ongoing R Kelly trial was dominated last week by the testimony of the star’s former business manager Derrel McDavid, who is a co-defendant in the case. He is accused of helping Kelly cover up the star’s sexual abuse of minors in the 2000s, but – he repeatedly insisted on the witness stand last week – at the time he genuinely believed that all of the musician’s various accusers were lying.For that claim to be credible, McDavid needed to convince jurors that he had never closely scrutinised the various sex tapes involving Kelly that were leaked and then retrieved during the 2000s, including the one that was at the centre of the musician’s 2008 trial.

Van Allen says that she first met Jane in 1998, and that she had three sexual encounters with her and Kelly over the next three years.Jane would have been around fourteen in 1998, although Van Allen claims Kelly lied at the time and said that the younger girl was sixteen.

He has published countless videos about the prosecution of Kelly, often talking about and criticising witnesses and lawyers involved in the criminal cases against the musician, as well as the judge who oversaw last year’s trial in New York.Gunn’s own arrest relates to a video he made about a week after the guilty verdict was reached in that trial.
