A grandmother reportedly collapsed and died after receiving a £400 vitamin drip as a present from her husband. Rita Sauguniene, 63, was pronounced dead at her home in Forest Gate, east London, two hours after undergoing the procedure on June 27, it has been reported.
A 54-year-old woman - said to be the therapist - has been arrested on suspicion of her manslaughter. Mrs Sauguniene's husband Algirdu had paid for the treatment as a gift, but the gran started to feel unwell soon after and collapsed unconscious before she was pronounced dead.
The house was reportedly later sealed off a crime scene. The vitamin course - administered through a person's veins - is popular with the likes of celebrities such as Madonna and Rita Ora.
