Oldham measures will be ramped up - but a full economic lockdown has been avoided.It follows pleas to the government from local leaders, citing the continuously low infection rates in the town.The lockdown is expected to be lifted from tonight.It means groups of people from two households can now once again meet in a home, private garden or at pubs and restaurants - regardless of whether they are in a support bubble.It could also indicate the town will return to the schedule the government had set out for July 30.That would mean some businesses being allowed to reopen - including casinos, bowling alleys, play areas and beauty parlours, with wedding receptions and other celebrations of up to 30 people.
