Patients have been advised to only visit A&E in Wigan and Leigh if it is 'absolutely necessary' as pressure on NHS services soars.

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust (WWL NHS) has repeatedly warned people in recent weeks to stay away from urgent care departments if possible.
