And Manchester City ’s recruitment policy has clearly tapped into the country’s extraordinary output of talent. The report, released by the CIES Football Observatory, also reveals that Brazil produces more expatriate players than any other country, while its players also top the rankings for minutes played across the 132 leagues studied.
At City, both Ederson and Fernandinho were virtual ever-present members of the Guardiola team that won five of the six domestic trophies available in the last two seasons.
