The former Real Madrid manager is one of the names linked with succeeding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the Old Trafford helm after Manchester United's recent run of form edged the Norwegian closer to the managerial chopping block.
Guardiola, whose side inflicted further misery on the Reds with an easy 2-0 win at the Theatre of Dreams, has previously gushed over Zidane after the pair faced off last year.
