Pep Guardiola gives Mauricio Pochettino verdict as Manchester United step up new manager pursuit

Pep Guardiola says that no-one should be fooled by the fact that Mauricio Pochettino has yet to collect a major trophy in his 12 years as a manager.

The two lock horns tomorrow night in what could well be a dress rehearsal for next season’s Manchester derbies, with Pochettino installed as bookies’ favourite to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

Manchester City ’s meeting with Paris Saint-Germain is not exactly high stakes, but a draw or City win would leave PSG needing a point from their final game against Club Brugge in order to join the Blues in the knockout phase.

A City defeat would mean they would have to go to RB Leipzig in a fortnight still seeking a draw to be sure of going through.
