With the countdown well and truly on for the upcoming season of Love Island, fans of the show have hit out at ITV bosses over discussions about ‘logistical difficulties’ surrounding casting LGBTI+ contestants.
Last month, reports circulated that ITV was looking to make the hit reality show more inclusive to LGBTI+ hopefuls, with the aim of having almost half of the contestants be people who identify as sexually fluid.
Now, cracks are beginning to show as the top dogs say this presents ‘logistical difficulties’ in what fans fear is their way of breaking it to us gently that they might not be able to fulfill their promise of an inclusive cast.
