When is Scotland out of lockdown 2021? How long it is expected to last

Nicola Sturgeon announced that Scotland will be in full lockdown until 'at least the end of the month'. As of January 5, a new "stay at home" message became a legal requirement across each of Scotland's mainland council areas.

That means everyone should remain indoors unless you are venturing out for one of several essential reasons - to exercise, to visit shops, to travel to work (if you are unable to work from home), to fulfill caring responsibilities for others, or to form part of an extended household.

The restrictions are expected to be in place for at least four weeks , but will be kept under review so could change at any time.
