Wayne Rooney has splashed out £20million on a stunning new Downton-style mansion.The Derby County manager and wife Coleen have been building their luxury estate since 2017 on a plot initially costing £4million.

And the jaw-dropping six-bedroom pile is reportedly built on 50 acres of land - the size of 25 football pitches.Rooney’s new-build Cheshire home has been named High Lake Manor - as revealed online by the developer - having formerly been known as Mount Pleasant Farm.

It has earned the nickname ‘Morrisons Mansion’ due to its resemblance to the supermarket chain and ison the flightpath to Manchester Airport, with planes flying directly over.Developer Brighouse Homes state High Lake Manor is a “luxury estate of distinction”.

A promotional piece published by the developer claims it boasts “enviable” pool and spa facilities and “luxurious interiors” in “magnificent grounds".The home also includes a library, its own orangeries and a garage that fits six cars.
