Brits are being urged to step outside and look up on Wednesday night when the skies above the UK will be lit up to remember the fallen.
While people have been unable to gather together this year to remember those who have died in war, a plan to pay tribute to them will be visible on Armistice Day.
At 7pm on Wednesday, searchlights set up in four Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) locations around the country will be switched on.
The searchlights are not to encourage crowds, but are a “symbolic gesture that the light of remembrance, even in these dark times, will never be extinguished” that can be seen for miles around.
