UK's coronavirus vaccine begins human trials on Thursday as government offers up £42.5m

dailystar.co.ukThe government is giving two UK-based teams working on vaccines £42.5million to help fund their efforts to become the first teams in the world to develop a coronavirus cure - with human trials starting as early as Thursday.
Speaking at No.10's press briefing in Downing Street on Tuesday, Matt Hancock said: "Both of these projects are making rapid progress and I have told the scientists leading them that we will do everything in our power to support them." He went on to reveal that £22.5million is being given to a project at Imperial College London so they can begin work on further trials.
And £20million is going to help fund Oxford University's accelerated vaccine team, whose vaccine will be trialled in people from Thursday.
