The Lake District has been named the UK's best destination for road trips. The staycation hotspot proved a hit in new research by fuel brand JET, which surveyed 2,000 drivers to uncover Great Britain's most scenic drives.
It's no surprise that the Lake District came out on top. After all, the region in Cumbria is filled with awe-inspiring mountain passes, not to mention there are heaps of routes meandering through the incredible valleys or right by those iconic lakes.
There are some popular spots too such as the Keswick Loop which offers various lakeside views, or the Kirkstone Pass which promises rolling green hills and spectacular surroundings.
