The death toll is up by 693 from 28,734 at the same point yesterday, according to the latest update from the Department of Health.
The number of confirmed cases has risen by 4,406 to 194,990 from 190,584 at the same point yesterday. A total of 84,806 tests were carried out yesterday.
On Friday last week, the government announced it had succeeded in reaching a target of 100,000 tests per day by the end of April.
