UK cinemas could reopen by July - in time for launch of major movie

Brits could be back to watching films on the big screen soon following hopes UK cinemas could reopen by mid-July, the boss of Vue has revealed.

The move would come just in time for Christopher Nolan's new film, Tenet, which is set to be released on July 17 if re-opening goes ahead.

Tim Richards, chief executive of the Vue Cinemas chain, says he is "hopeful" that cinemas can be up and running again in time, providing the number of coronavirus cases remain low.
