Detectives have been investigating a daylight ‘firearms discharge’ on Briscoe Lane, in Newton Heath, since January. The residential estate was cordoned off following the shooting on the afternoon of Tuesday January 19.
This afternoon (Tuesday July 13) officers executed six warrants at addresses in the north Manchester and Failsworth areas. Police arrested two men - aged 31 and 39 - who have been taken to custody to be questioned on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
