The RSPCA have launched an investigation after two emaciated pooches were found fighting for their lives on the same road within the space of a week.
A Mastiff-type pooch was described as a "walking skeleton" and was taken in on February 25, after being found near the A41 in Albrighton, near Wolverhampton.
Martin Yates found the pooch on his drive back from work, and noticed it had a broken leg and was struggling to walk. He rescued the dog and took it in his home.
A medical assessment revealed the pup was in a volatile state at half the weight he should have been and was suffering a fracture in three places on his right leg, and a displaced hip.
