Tributes have been paid to a footballer who died while playing for his local over forties club over the weekend.Darren Scott, 40, took to the field for Cobblers Hall FC over 40s on Saturday, February 12, as they played against South Shields Catholic Club, but was struck down by a sudden and unexpected medical emergency and was pronounced dead at the scene.His family, friends, and the football community have been left "shocked" and "devastated" by his sudden and tragic death.He leaves behind his wife Donna and his children Declan, 17, Noah, 15 and Layna, nine.The sportsman, who was a loyal Newcastle United fan, loved playing football, coachin ga local under 15s club and spending time with his family.Darren Scott has been described as a devoted husband, father and committed youth football coach.In the aftermath of his death, his family and friends have released a joint statement.It says: "He was an amazing man.
