The government has announced that it will be introducing mandatory 'quarantine hotels' for travellers returning to the UK, to ensure they stick to 10 days of self-isolation.

Anyone arriving in the UK from a list of 30 countries will be escorted directly from the airport to their allocated hotel, and will need to self-isolate for 10 days in their room.

Being stuck in a hotel room is obviously not appealing, but one travel expert has now shared his travel tips for travellers who will face this situation.

Lloyd Figgins is not only Chairman of the Travel Risk & Incident Prevention Group (TRIP), but he's also a former police officer, soldier and expedition leader.
